MAJOR AIRHEAD R-bike service (every 10,000mi/16,000km) includes:

• change engine oil and oil filter
• check transmission, driveshaft and bevel drive lubricant levels; top-up/replace if necessary
• change fork oil
• lubricate all grease points
• clean air filter; replace if necessary
• clean fuel tap filters; replace if necessary
• check battery level; clean and tighten connections
• clean and gap spark plugs; replace if necessary
• clean and gap ignition points; replace points/condenser if necessary
• check tightness of: (engine mount, centre stand retaining bolts, side stand bolts, upper and lower rear shock bolts, rear sub-frame bolts, carburetor intake hose connection)
• torque cylinder heads
• check and adjust valve clearances
• check and adjust ignition timing
• clean carburetor float bowls
• synchronize carburetors, adjust the fuel mixture and idle speed
• adjust clutch
• check brake fluid levels; clean system if necessary
• adjust brakes
• clean and lubricate brake linkages
• check operation of all controls, lights, switches and warning lights
• remove and re-install front and rear wheels; inspect bearings and seals, lubricate outer bearings, check preload
• lubricate drive splines
• check tire and wheels
• check steering head bearings and swing arm bearing play
• road test the motorcycle
